Bear Season
This is Ron and Jared, a father/son team. Ron was the camera man and Jared had the tag. Jared is a college student so he could only hunt on the weekends. After an unsucessful weekend, he came back and was able to harvest this big boar, 480 pounds.

Jared - 2005
It was the first weekend of kill season, we had hunted the first two days with little luck. We started this Friday morning with two different baits to try so we broke up into two groups. We sent the first two dogs in on the bait we were trying and they were starting to go out fairly good when our shooter for the day, Jeff, looked up and seen a bear crossing down the road a little ways. I looked up when he shouted and it was a slob. It waddled across the road with its belly just about dragging the ground. Best part was it crossed going North, the same side of the road as the bait we put down on. We flew down there and put some dogs right behind him. They werent going very fast, fighting him on the ground, so we strapped on the gear and went in after him. It is a big block and the guys who were on the road followed the chase which eventually ended up on the north side. He treed close to a logging road, not far off the main road. Some of the guys got to the tree but he had a good seat and wasnt going anywhere. They stayed there with him till the shooter, who had walked all the way through the block, got there. It was a boar that dressed out at 426 pounds.

Dave Nieson, 235 pounds, 2003

On the last weekend of kill season, we tried a couple of baits in the morning but they didnt work out. There was a corn field that we knew some bear had been in regularly so we went and checked for tracks. There was a good track, one we have been watching and waiting for. The dogs took him across the road into a big block and they couldnt move him much, he just kept walking and walking. He got down in the river and would cross back and forth. The guys went in after him and would always be just a step behind. They shot him on the ground. He dressed out at 545 pounds.
